During Katrina, I was on a sewing vacation and watched the coverage in shock all week long. So I’m hoping fervently that Gustav isn’t a repeat. All weekend I’ve been watching the Weather Channel and checking in on a blog of a single-mom evacuee. She’s a great writer, with family homes in Houma and her dad deciding to ride out the hurricane, rather than evacuate. Join Claire’s hurricane party here.

Thank you so much for the post and the support! We made it home safe today BUT there are so many people without homes, including the majority of my family, in Terrebonne Parish in Houma Louisiana. Please keep reading my site and please keep commenting! The Comments make my day!
Also, PRAY that Ike and Josephine disapate and do not come our way! I don’t think Louisiana can handle another Hurricane!
    Thanks again!
