Since his death Thursday, Les Paul has been eulogized as an innovator and visionary who influenced modern music like no one else.
That influence is still being felt today among guitar players of all ages. We asked several local musicians to talk about Les Paul and what his life and accomplishments mean to them.

For club-music mavens, the return of New York’s seminal breakbeat artistes Liquid Liquid is a reminder that in the beginning freestyle dancers romped and stomped to the rhythms of percussionists. Two hundred electric guitars and basses line the park and plug in for the world premiere of Rhys Chatham’s A Crimson Grail for 200 Electric Guitars.

How Do I Get to the Festival?
By Train: Take The F train to York St. Walk east along Jay St. towards Front St. Turn left on Plymouth St. and the entrance will be at intersection of Plymouth and Main St.
Take A,C to High St. and Cadman Plaza E and walk down Cadman Plaza E towards York St. Turn left on Plymouth and the entrance will be at the intersection of Plymouth St. and Main St.
Take the 2/3 to Clark Street. Walk down the hill of Henry Street. Make a right on Cranberry Street and follow directions from Cadman Plaza
